When I discovered the symbolism of the watermelon in Palestine, it resonated deeply with me, reflecting the resilience of its people. As the daughter of a Vietnamese refugee, I grew up hearing my mother's harrowing stories of being shot at by the Viet Cong as she and her family desperately tried to escape. She found refuge in a country that promised freedom, where she gave birth to me. Only as I grew older did I come to realize that the freedom we cherish often comes at the expense of others.
You’ve seen the videos and images since October 2023. I don’t need to explain how mutual aid and solidarity is needed more now than ever. All profits will be donated to aid families or humanitarian organizations in Palestine. If you have suggestions, feel free to contact me!
